Frequently asked questions

Help with recording, photos, Pro, and data. Follow the links to the user guide for detailed steps.

Recording and location

Why is my location not being recorded?

Check Location Record On/Off in the app settings. In iOS Settings, make sure Location Services is on and LogMyPlace has Always access. After changing permissions, open the app and try a short journey. See Getting started.

Why are there gaps or inaccurate locations?

Indoor or underground reception, power-saving behavior, permissions, force-quitting, and accuracy settings can all affect recording. The cause varies by situation. Minimum Interval is a condition for saving points, not a guarantee of a GPS reading every set number of seconds.Check recording settings

How much battery does it use?

Battery use varies with settings, device, travel, and GPS reception. No fixed consumption figure is guaranteed. Choose a preset and adjust it after checking both records and battery use.

Why does the route cut across roads?

The route joins saved location points with straight lines. It does not match the gaps between points to roads, so longer intervals or missing points may produce lines that differ from your path.

History, photos, and steps

Why can't I view older records?

Free access to history has a time limit. Pro lets you view and search older history still stored in the app. Check current conditions on the in-app purchase screen.Free and Pro

Why aren't my photos on the map?

Check the capture date, location metadata, and photo permissions. Limited access and fetch limits may affect which photos appear. Screenshots are excluded.Photo display requirements

Why are no steps shown?

Check Motion & Fitness access in iOS Settings. Steps may be unavailable for some devices or periods. The app shows daily totals.

Why can't I find a visit date in place search?

Check the center point, radius, and date range. Results require location or visit records nearby. Unrecorded periods or points outside the radius will not appear.Search instructions

Pro and calendars

Why aren't my purchased Pro features available?

Make sure you use the Apple Account used for the purchase, then try restoring purchases from Settings → Enable Features (Purchase). Check subscriptions in iOS Settings too. If the issue continues, contact Support.

Why isn't a visit in my calendar?

Check Pro access, the Calendar Link switch, calendar permissions, and a writable calendar. Visits need both arrival and departure after the link is enabled. The feature does not sync all past history in bulk.Setup instructions

Where can I cancel a subscription?

Open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. An outright purchase has no recurring renewal to cancel.

Exporting and importing

Can I import Google Timeline or GPX?

The app imports its own CSV and JSON formats. You cannot directly import Google Timeline, GPX, or another app's files.

Does importing only add new records?

It replaces existing records in the imported period. Save your current history to a separate file first, then check the file's date range before confirming the import. Before you import

Can I track someone else's live location?

The app records activity on your own iPhone. It does not track other people in real time or manage multiple devices together.
